Backyard adventures, community commentary and essays. No deep philosophy, no pandering to partisan views, just plain talk.
Also, I mowed Kansas. Just so you know.

12/19/2003 Entry: "FROM A K.C. FRIEND ABOUT WIND GENERATORS"
FROM A K.C. FRIEND ABOUT WIND GENERATORS John was the little kid across the street when we were growing up in the 800 block of Highland in Salina. We reconnected awhile back and are having a great time corresponding. His niece, Peggy, is my namesake. So...in a note today, John had this to say about wind generators: ...I used to see the windmills in the foothills between Stockton and San Francisco.... there were hundreds of them and from what the locals tell me, only about 10% of them worked.. a lot of government money spent for little return.
